If you doubt that dinosaurs still walk the earth, look no further than the Shoebill Stork. A fearsome ambush predator that stalks the African marshlands and waterways, the stork patiently stalks its prey with the unflinching stare of a statue. Ruthless opportunists, the stork will snap up small alligators, snakes or lizards as soon as a passing fish, using it's distinctive bill to quickly dispatch its prey. This piece evolved through a few iterations before landing on this final version, but I think it was worth the effort.
